Let's talk about gamepads.

Fist of all I want take attention to the huge difference between the words "a gamepad" and "a joystick". Many people in our country say "a joystick" on gamepads and "a gamepad" on joysticks. So what's the difference?
Take a look on the picture, this is a joystick.

This device is used to operate in video games by a control stick(also known as the control column). Normally it's used to control flights, helicopters and cars in video games. They are called "simulators".

The gamepad, which is located on the picture below is used to hold in two hands, where the fingers (especially thumbs) are used to provide input.

This is the seventh generation of gamepads it was designed for PlayStation 3. It has all the necessary features like a wireless support, analog sticks, pressure-sensitive buttons and many others. Also, it has full compatibility with the modern video games which was released on consoles last 10 years.
Sadly to say, but in the day when it was released this gamepad had already been irrelevant. Its rival The Microsoft has developed the Xbox 360 wireless gamepad which original ergonomic design and fresh ideas become more successful.

The Xbox 360 gamepad has moved the trend when analog sticks replace directional buttons from the left side. Although more ergonomic design provides less damage to your health, especially for the people with carpal tunnel syndrome (it eliminates a mechanism of injury). Even for now, when the next generation of game controllers has released this gamepad remains relevant.

The perfect computer system nowadays

"Perfect is the enemy of good" Voltaire

The situation in the computer industry is changing every day, so we can talk about modern computers only in the context of some range of time. Because you can break down a ton of money on your perfect computer system now, but in a few years it can become irrelevant. It's obvious that you need to be reasonable. But even with this you can miscalculate. New technology breaks onto the market and changes the idea about the modern computer. I'll give you one example to prove my words.

I bought a new, perfect workstation for games and work. It was a modern computer with a good cooling system that eliminates dust collection inside, with high performance processor and the second by performance video card on the market. Then I bought a new monitor with FullHD resolution. I wanted to make beautiful game movies and guidelines for my friends, with quality as high as possible. Everything was perfect. I made a lot of movies, guidelines and shared them on YouTube.

In a few months I have realised that the new technology comes into our everyday life. It is a 4k video resolution. I have seen that a lot of people on the Internet start to use this technology into the movies, even YouTube added 4k resolution compatibility. And the quality is a really better than in FullHD. Because in FullHD you have just 1080 vertical lines of pixels, but in 4k you have over 4000 lines.  So I have understood that my computer is no more perfect for me and I need to buy a new processor and a monitor to make videos into 4k resolution.

How I have started to watch films without subtitles

  • 1

I`m going to tell you a short story about how did I start to watch films without subtitles. It wasn`t easy, but made all the difference for me.

One day, a few years ago, I decided to watch the film "12 Angry men (1957)" into the original language. But I was disappointed, because I couldn't find Russian subtitles for it! At that period of time I watched films only with Russian subtitles and I thought that it was the limit for me... Anyway, I decided to improve my language skills and try to watch it later.

A few stages were determined for it:
- First stage "films without subtitles" was about learning more and more new words. The idea was pretty clear - more words you know, the more you can understand. So I started to learn words and tried to watch films with English subtitles. First weeks were terrible, hundred of new words, almost every 10 seconds I stopped the video and wrote new of them. But I was involved in this process and didn`t care about the time. Finally, I could watch my favourite films with English subtitles and understood almost everything!

- So I started the second stage: "Films completely without tips, subtitles and pauses".
First try I made on "The Matrix". And it was incredible! I understood everything! Every single word! Only one word was new for me "Scaffold", but I didn`t even look at the subtitles, just wrote it down into my notebook without stopping the film!

- But I didn`t realise that the real hell was waiting for me at the stage third "Films that I have never seen in Russian". Even for now I`ve just hope to catch the basic meaning into this type of films, but I`m trying over and over. Just sitting and watching every day: some TV series, TV shows and films without subtitles. I hope that one day I`m going to write here:

"I`ve understood everything in new foreign films without any tips!"
